PRGC is proud to be recognized as one of the premier family-oriented gun clubs in the region, and trap shooting is one of the foundations this reputation was built upon. We have many husbands and wives, dads and kids, moms and kids, grandparents and kids and grandchildren all shooting together. Our trap fields are meticulously groomed, our trap houses and throwing machines utilize the latest technology for a relaxing shooting experience, and our friendly facilities make you feel as comfortable as if you were in your own back yard.
- Trap houses are opened and practice days begin in the Spring as soon as the snow allows.
- Monday and Thursday evenings are “open practice” nights throughout the spring, summer and fall when anyone can come and shoot. Members pay $5 per 25 targets, non-members pay $7, and youth pay $2 (member or non-member)
- The CNY league consists of 6 clubs from the “North” and 6 clubs from the “South”. Clubs travel each Tuesday night to compete. Typically a club shoots one week at “home” and one week “away”. Pompey is in the southern division so we shoot against Bridgeport, Dewitt, Three Rivers, Skaneateles, and Otisco. To shoot for Pompey you just need to show up and shoot 25 targets. The league runs for 20 weeks and you can shoot one week or every week.
- Beginners are always welcome and if you don’t have a gun or know where to start, we have willing members to help you get started in this wonderful sport for free and even loan you a gun to try it out if you don’t have one of your own.
